I think You are right.
He needs a little more muscle and definition.
Now, if subby wants to lose a *little* more fat at the same time, guess that's okay.
I only can be jealous of his body.
He looks pretty good, BUT for improvement I would recommend:
losing his 5-10 pounds
shaving some or all that dark arm and leg hair
weight training for toning up - low weight, high reps
nipple training/stretching

i agree with appy. i am jealous of his body also. i am currently working on it, but taking baby steps. Keep it up!!
Have you thought of taking him where he could get his percent body fat measured? I read your most recent post and your poll - both indicating that you/he aren't sure if he should or shouldn't lose more weight. Just see if he is in the 10-15% body fat range. He'll never get to 6-8% it just won't happen. As you condition him - remember fat NEVER changes to muscle and vice versa. They are two totally different things. That is a prevalent myth that is not true. As he puts on more muscle (by lifting heavier weights, not lighter .... have you ever seen a great distance runner that looked like a power lifter?) his metabolism will increase and that will help him maintain his weight. Most adults gain weight as we become less active, lose muscle mass, and then have fewer 'furnaces' to burn the calories we ingest. Enjoy your husband. I think it's great he's getting into condition. He'll feel great as he does.
